Bio

Kevin Ricks is an Associate Athletic Trainer at Notre Dame, working with the Irish Hockey team and Men’s Tennis team while assisting with football. Ricks also has worked with the Irish men’s and women’s fencing team, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s swimming and diving, women’s soccer and women’s rowing teams in his time at Notre Dame. Ricks first came to Notre Dame in 2001.

Before arriving at the University, Ricks worked two years at the University of Mississippi as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working with the Ole Miss Football team and the Rebel’s track and field teams. He earned his master’s degree in exercise science, with an emphasis in biomechanics, from Mississippi in 2001.

Ricks spent the summer of 1999 as an intern at Chicago’s Athletico Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy Clinic. One summer earlier, he served as a student athletic trainer intern with the NFL’s Saint Louise Rams for training camp and preseason football games.

A native of Peoria, IL, Ricks is a 1999 graduate of Western Illinois University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training while working with carious Leathernecks’ teams as a student athletic trainer.

Ricks is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). He and his wife Cheryl have two sons, Hunter and Levi, and reside in South Bend.
