Notre Dame, Ind. – Two-day ticket packages for the second annual Shillelagh Hockey Tournament to be held on Jan. 2-3, 2010 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., will go on sale to the public at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 19.
The tickets can be purchased through the Sears Centre Arena website at searscentre.com and then clicking on tickets, the Sears Centre Arena Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster locations or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000. Parking for the Shillelagh Tournament at the Sears Centre Arena lots will be free.
The Shillelagh Tournament will be hosted by the seventh-ranked University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish and will feature the Colgate Raiders, the Niagara University Purple Eagles and the fourth-ranked University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. On Saturday, Jan. 2, Niagara will face North Dakota in the opening game at 3:05 p.m. (CT). Notre Dame will then play Colgate in the nightcap beginning at 6:05 p.m. (CT). On Sunday, Jan. 3, Colgate will play in the first game at 3:05 p.m. against either Niagara or North Dakota with Notre Dame facing one of those two teams at 6:05 p.m. (CT).

Seats on the glass (2 games Friday/2 games Saturday): – $60.00
Seats in center ice sections and lower portions of C101, C105-C118 (2 games Friday/2 games Saturday) – $30.00 for adults/$20.00 for youth 12 and under
Seats in all of C100 and C119, upper sections of C101 and C118 and upper sections of C105-C114 (2 games Friday/2 games Saturday) – 20.00

The Sears Centre Arena, which opened on Oct. 26, 2006, is located in the Prairie Stone Business Park in Hoffman Estates, Ill., 30 miles northwest of Chicago, just off of Interstate 90 and west of Illinois Route 59 and seats 9,700 for hockey.
A Shillelagh (pronounced Sha-lay-lee) is a thick stick of blackthorn or oak, used in Ireland, typically as a weapon. The word originates from the town of Shillelagh in County Wicklow, Ireland.
