– After opening the season with a 3-0 record (the best start to a campaign by an Irish squad since 2006) Notre Dame dropped each of its two matches last week at the Stanford Invitational, falling to both the host Cardinal and St. Mary’s.
– Freshman Jeni Houser pounded Stanford for a team- and career-high 19 kills … the slugger averaged 3.57 kills/set in the two matches on the West Coast to earn a spot on the Stanford Invitational All-Tournament team.
– Senior Kristen Dealy eclipsed the 1,000-dig mark at the Stanford Invite, just one week after classmate Frenchy Silva accomplished the same feat … Dealy is 30 kills away from joining Notre Dame’s 1,000-kill / 1,000-dig club, a milestone only achieved by seven players in Irish history … sophomore setter Sammie Brown needs 13 assists to reach the 1,000-mark for her career.
– The Irish continue to receive votes (10) in the AVCA Top 25 Poll … Lipscomb, Portland and Valparaiso are neither ranked nor receiving votes.
