Women Second, Men Fourth at ACC Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 5 Notre Dame women’s cross country team took second place and the No. 16 Irish men’s cross country squad finished in fourth place at the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships on Friday at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.

No. 2 ranked NC State was the women’s team champion with a team score of 28 while No. 4 ranked Virginia captured the men’s team title with a team score of 61.

Women’s Race

Mary Bonner Dalton used a huge kick down the finish chute to move from fifth to second place overall with a massive personal record time of 19:14.9. Amaya Aramini finished 16th overall with a time in 19:56.2, and Siona Chisholm placed 19th in a time of 20:00.5. The Irish trio all earned All-ACC honors for their performances on the day.

Sophie Novak posted a PR of 20:07.8 and placed 22nd overall. Gretchen Farley wrapped up the team scoring efforts with a season-best time of 20:13.1 while finishing 30th.

Men’s Race

Ethan Coleman stayed in a pack near the front of the race from start to finish and ran a 22:55.6 for seventh place overall. Coleman garnered his third-consecutive All-Atlantic Coast Conference honor and posted his highest individual finish at an ACC Championships to-date.

Daelen Ackley ran a 23:22.0 to finish 22nd at the race. Dylan Throop and Kevin Sanchez finished back-to-back for the Irish as Throop turned in a 23:29.5 to place 26th while Sanchez ran a 23:30.8 for 27th. Izaiah Steury was the fifth scoring runner for Notre Dame and had a 23:34.6 for 32nd.
