SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame track & field teams had solid performances at the 2026 Meyo Invitational over the weekend, including a new program record in the women’s 800m race and several top-ten all-time marks.
Friday saw Lauren Huber take first place in the pentathlon with a combined score of 3879 while Kate McGuinness placed second with a 3314. Huber was the top finisher in the 60m hurdles, high jump and 800m and was second in the shot put and long jump on the way to the win. The score of 3879 was also good enough for seventh in the program’s all-time record book in the pentathlon.
Zahra Bichara captured second place in the long jump with a 5.81m performance. On the men’s side, Jackson McDowell claimed first place in the high jump after clearing 2.07m. Zach Petko, meanwhile, joined teammate Obi Okeke in the top-ten list for the men’s shot put with a 17.46m effort
On Saturday, Gretchen Farley became the first Notre Dame women’s track athlete to post a sub-2:05.00 time in the 800m championship race as she set the new program record with a 2:04.77. Isabel Allori won the women’s 1 mile championship race in a time of 4:34.07 for the fifth-fastest indoor mile in program history. Rosie Mucharsky was second with a 4:34.49 and claimed the sixth-fastest indoor mile in program history. Siona Chisholm ran away with the women’s 3,000m championship race in a time of 9:07.72. Rudecia Bernard cleared 1.77m on her third attempt to post the fifth-best high jump in women’s indoor program history while also winning the event. Reese Sanders posted a personal record and won the 400m open race with a time of 54.68.
Cameron Todd posted the seventh-fastest men’s indoor 3,000m with a time of 7:52.38 to capture first place in the Ryan Shay 3,000m Championship race. Mika Brouwer and Jack Ahart posted times of 46.97 and 47.24, respectively, in the men’s 400m championship race to take over the third-best and sixth-fastest times in program history.
Next up for the Irish are the Fairgrounds Invite and Woo Pig Classic. The Fairground Invite takes place February 6-7 in Indianapolis, and the Woo Pig Classic is slated for February 7 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
