LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Day two of the 2025 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships saw several big performances by the Irish.
Madison Schmidt opened the day by tying the school record – which she set earlier this season – in the high jump. Schmidt turned in a 1.86m performance and finished second to earn a podium spot and First Team All-ACC honors.
Maya Collins posted a school record time of 7.35 in the 60m dash and earned a spot in the final with a seventh-place finish on Sunday. The final is set to take place on Monday at approximately 1:20 p.m.
Daelen Ackley and Michael Danzi had to wait for a review before the pair knew for certain that they were through to the final in the men’s one mile race. Ackley had the fastest time of the day in the preliminaries with a 3:59.10. Danzi posted the third-fastest time of the day and made it to the final with a 4:00.06 in the prelims. The men’s one mile final is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
Dimitri Nicholson punched his ticket to the final of the 60m dash after placing second in his heat with a personal best time of 6.70.
Through two days of competition, the Irish women sit atop the leaderboard with a team score of 38. The men are tenth with more than 10 event finals still to be contested.
The third and final day of the ACC Indoor Championships is scheduled to begin with the women’s triple jump at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
