LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Daelen Ackley ran a tremendous second half of the one mile to earn first place to headline day three as Notre Dame track and field programs wrapped up their performances at ACC Indoor Championships on Monday.

Ackley distanced himself from the field over the tail end of the race and had more than enough of a lead built to carry him down the homestretch for a first place finish in the one mile with a time of 4:02.11.

Several student-athletes earned All-ACC honors by virtue of their finishes on the day. Luke Himes was a First Team All-ACC honoree after finishing second in the shot put with an 18.75m performance. Dimitri Nicholson took fourth place in the 60m final (6.69) to earn Second Team All-ACC honors. Sophie Novak (8:51.94) and Siona Chisholm (9:01.04) earned Second Team All-ACC recognition by finishing fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 3,000m race. Ethan Coleman took fifth place in the men’s 3,000m race to also garner Second Team All-ACC accolades.

The women’s team placed seventh after three days of competition with a team score of 47. The men’s side was ninth with a team score of 39.

The squads will await the official announcement for selections for the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which takes place March 14-15 in Virginia Beach.
