AS A FRESHMAN: Turned in a successful rookie campaign as a key cog in the Irish men’s relays … competed in XX meets between indoor and outdoor competition … saw first action of the year at the Razorback Invitational, where he finished 28th in the open 400 meters and second with the 4×400-meter relay (Harvey Smith, John Rutkowski, Chris Giesting) … placed 31st in the 400 at the Meyo Invitational … came in 14th in the 400 and led off the 4×400 that finished seventh (Oye Eyeguokan, Alex Groesch, Smith) at the Spire DI Invitational … earned second team All-ACC honors leading off the third-place 4×400-meter relay with Smith, Groesch and Giesting (3:11.06), and placed just outside All-ACC consideration with a seventh-place finish in the 400 at the ACC Indoor Championships (48.11) … competed in the 4×200 (fourth) and 4×400 (eighth) with Groesch, Smith and Giesting at the Texas Relays … led off the winning 4×400 relay (3:08.61; Smith, Groesch, Giesting) and placed fifth in the 400 (47.31) at the Stanford Invitational … finished ninth in the open 400 (47.56), second as part of the 4×400 relay (3:07.50) and fourth with the 4×100 relay (41.21) at the Georgia Tech Invitational … help the Irish to fourth in the 4×200 (1:24.08) and seventh in the 4×400 (3:09.51) at the Drake Relays (both with Smith, Groesch and Giesting) … placed ninth in the preliminaries of the 400 meters at the ACC Outdoor Championships … led off the school record-breaking performance in the 4×400 relay at the NCAA East Preliminaries that sent the Irish to the NCAA Outdoor Championships (eighth, 3:05.70) … earned honorable mention All-America honors after finishing 22nd in the 4×400-meter relay at the national championships … earned a monogram.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Graduated from the Woodberry Forest School (Woodberry Forest, Va.) in the spring of 2014 … was a state champion in the 300m dash and 500m dash as a sophomore, junior and senior … times in 300m dash and 500m dash as a senior ranked fourth and fifth in the United States, respectively … born to Keith and Michelle Ways in Indianapolis, Ind. … has one brother, Aubrey … enrolled in the College of Arts & Letters and pursuing a major in Film, Television and Theater.
