AS A SOPHOMORE: Participated in three track meets exclusively during the indoor season … placed 10th in the long jump (5.04m) and third in triple jump (10.93m) at the Blue and Gold Invitational … snagged 11th place in triple jump at the Notre Dame Invitational (10.34m) … earned a sixth-place finish in long jump at the Alex WIlson Invitational (5.22m).
AS A FRESHMAN:Competed in four meets during the indoor/outdoor track & field season … was quite busy to begin first collegiate campaign, competing in three meets at the Blue and Gold Invitational: placed eighth in the 60m hurdles (9.93); jumped to a fifth place finish in the high jump (1.57m); and finished eighth in the long jump (5.17m) … lone outdoor competition occurred at the Border Battle, placing 13th in the long jump (5.22m).
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Graduated from Los Alamos High School (Los Alamos, N.M.) in the spring of 2013 … earned four letters in track & field, three in soccer and two in diving … state champion in 4x100m relay (2013) and also recorded personal best in high jump (5’5″) and long jump (18′ 6.25″) … junior year set the school and state record in the 4x100m relay (48.65) on way to a state championship … also set the 300m hurdles school record in 2012 (44.73) … high jump state champion in 2010 (5’4″) … two-time Team High Point Athlete … has numerous family members that attended Notre Dame: sisters Barbara (’10) and Beth (’14), uncle Earl Guertin (’67), cousins Sara (’97) and Patrick (’97) Brennan … was the treasurer at United Way of Northern New Mexico … named a National AP Scholar … earned Oppenheimer Award in memory of Mary and Harold Argo … full name is Laura Jean Wendelberger … born in Los Alamos, N.M. … daughter of James and Joanne Wendelberger.
