ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Irish men’s track and field team sent three multi-events student-athletes to the Bob Eubanks Open on Thursday at the Laker Turf Building in Allendale, Mich. Senior Justin Schneider (Atlanta, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian) was a force, claiming first place in the four events of the night. The remaining three events are set to be completed Friday.
Joining Schneider in the multi-events competition at the Bob Eubanks Open are sophomore Alex Bavis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) and Dean Odegard (St. Louis, Mo./Lutheran Southern).
60-meter dash – Schneider finished first in 7.31, while Odegard was fifth in 7.50 and Bavis had a seventh-place finish in 7.57.
Long Jump – Schneider was the first-place finisher, jumping 6.84m. Bavis and Odegard concluded in sixth place (5.90m) and eighth place (5.69m).
Shot Put – Schneider claimed first place (12.51m). Odegard and Bavis finished fifth (10.23m) and sixth (9.77m), in that order.
High Jump – Schneider jumped 1.98m for first place, trailed by Odegard who finished second (1.89m). Bavis had a fifth-place finish, jumping 1.74m.
Notre Dame Total Scores – Schneider completed the day in first place, scoring 2,973 points. Odegard and Bavis rounded out the day in fourth place (2,438) and seventh place (2,304), respectively.

The Bob Eubanks Open continues Friday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. (EST) with the women’s multi-events, followed by the conclusion of the men’s heptathlon at 12:05 p.m. and the running and field events are set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
