CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Drew Griffith was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Male Freshman of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Malvern, Pennsylvania, Griffith ran a 22:53.9 and placed 12th overall to help the Irish defend their title at the Joe Piane Invitational on Friday. His finish was a big part of lifting the team to a 13-point win over a highly-competitive field.
“This weekend was a great step forward for Drew,” said coach Chris Neal. “He did a good job staying composed in his first big college meet.”
Notre Dame returns to action on Saturday, October 19 at the Pre-Nationals Races in Wisconsin.
