MADISON, Wisc. – The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish captured three top five team finishes as they competed at the 2022 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.
The women’s team saw Olivia Markezich lead the pack with a time of 20:11.9 in the women’s “A” race. Not far behind was Katie Thronson who crossed the finish line at 20:30.1. Anna Sophia Keller also was within a few seconds as she finished in 20:33.0 Rounding out the scoring for the Irish were Erin Strzelecki and Siona Chisolm who finished at 20:35.9 and 20:46.5, respectively.
Maddy Denner and Sophie Novak also ran for times of 20:55.2 and 22:22.6. Kaitlin Ryan, Katie Rose Blachowicz, and Charlotte Turreson also ran for the Irish clocking in at 21:84.4, 22:27.5, and 22:33.1, respectively.
On the men’s team, the group was led by Carter Solomon who crossed the finish line at 22:23.4. Izaiah Steury and Joshua Methner clocked in at 23:32.7 and 23:38.9, respectively. Kevin Berry finished the race at 23:39.6 with Quinn Gallagher finishing right behind at 23:57.1. Matthew Carmody and Carter Cheesman finished at 2413.3 and 24:35.4, respectively.
Nick Mota led the men’s team in the 8k race with a time of 24:23.7. Ryan Schumacher and Robert Cozean clocked in at 24:26.5 and 24:27.3. Jake Renfree and Tom Seitzer were in the mix as well when they crossed the finish line at 24:28.2 and 24:36.6.
The Irish are back in action when they take on the ACC Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 28.
