Shoaf Takes First At Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish competed in the Spartan invitational hosted by Michigan State on Friday, April 5. 

Michael Shoaf led the way with a first place finish in shot put with a throw of 18.98m, followed by a third place finish from Henry Boudreau with a throw of 15.71m. Boudreau also recorded a third place in the men’s discus.

Recording a personal best in the men’s hammer throw, Blake Kusky threw 61.75m to take home third place in the event. He was followed by Shoaf who finished seventh, Matthew Teague who finished eighth, and Robert Feeney who finished ninth. 

In the women’s hammer throw, Emma Albano recorded a throw of 55.42 for a second place finish and was followed by Shiloh Corrales-Nelson, who finished fifth. Corrales-Nelson also finished fourth in the women’s shot put with a throw of 13.45m. Ore Olusi was right behind her as she tabbed a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.29m

Sarah David also finished third in the women’s javelin, throwing 37.78m.
